Your teenager has a public TikTok. You want to know what they're posting and who's commenting — but following them from your account starts a fight, and spyware destroys trust. There's a middle path: their public profile is, by definition, public.
What checking the public profile tells you
- What they post — and how much of it reveals location, school, or personal info.
- Who comments — supportive friends, strangers, or adults who shouldn't be there.
- Follower spikes — sudden growth can mean a viral video you should probably watch.
Why anonymous checking keeps the peace
Checking from your own account shows up — in Profile View History, in suggested accounts, in the inevitable "Mom, why are you stalking my TikTok?" Viewing anonymously lets you stay informed without turning every check into a confrontation. You see the same public content anyone on the internet sees — which is exactly the point: so does everyone else.
Use what you learn to talk, not to ambush
